BOISE, Idaho -- Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter is hoping an endorsement from folksy, feisty tea-party powerhouse Sarah Palin helps his 2010 race for re-election.
Palin, an Idaho native, endorsed Otter on a website, saying he's a voice for "commonsense conservatism."
Otter is running against Democrat Keith Allred.
Palin is considered a possible presidential candidate in 2012 after running on the Republican ticket with John McCain in 2008.
She's been endorsing Republican candidates across the country as she hopes to power the party to a majority in Congress following the Nov. 2 elections.
Palin, who resigned from her first term as Alaska governor before completing it, graduated from the University of Idaho in journalism.
