Well owners want M3 to go slow with Spring Valley development near Eagle | Meridian, Eagle, Kuna, Star | Idaho Statesman

Tom Sorge isn’t buying the argument by M3 Cos. that its Spring Valley planned community doesn’t pose a threat to the area’s 2,000 existing water wells.

Sorge, a retired business executive in the Rocket Bar subdivision north of Eagle, spent about $10,000 in 2002 to sink a new 140-foot well after his original 50-foot well went dry.

“So we know the water table is dropping,” Sorge said.

Many of the wells are near Ballantyne Lane and Homer Road, about a mile south of where M3 wants to pump most of its water, said David Head, president of the North Ada County Groundwater Association and a resident of the nearby Stillwell Estates subdivision.
