Perhaps Western politicians have learned a thing or two from watching their favorite four-legged foil — the wolf.
They’re hunting as a pack.
On Capitol Hill, Idaho Republican Rep. Mike Simpson is looking to use the budget process to overturn a federal court ruling that returned wolves to the feds’ endangered species list.
And that’s a separate animal from the several bills in Congress, endorsed by Simpson and other Western representatives, that seek to delist the wolves.
In Montana, Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer is ordering his state’s wildlife agents to stare down the feds and kill problem wolves in areas where the animals have enjoyed sanctuary.
