The 3A state high school baseball tournament started Thursday morning with a moment of silence for Payette native and Baseball Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew, who died earlier this week after a battle with esophageal cancer.

Later in the morning, Payette wrapped up its first-round appearance with an 11-0 victory over South Fremont. The game was shortened to five innings because of the 10-run rule. [...]
