The Animal Years Reissued in Deluxe and Vinyl Editions

That's right.  Like Golden Age Of Radio and Hello Starling, The Animal Years has been drastically improved. The updated version of the CD and the VINYL now include a BONUS disc, featuring Josh performing the entire album SOLO ACOUSTIC, plus 4 b-side recordings (Blame it on the Tetons, Harbortown, Peter Killed the Dragon, and Monster Ballads [early version]), and two videos. The included acoustic album was recorded for this re-issue in 2008, and these recordings have not been previously released!

Free MP3: Wanna sample Josh's re-take on his own songs?  We're offering the classic "Wolves" - the solo acoustic version - as a free mp3.  Click here to get yours.

For the CD edition, both discs are housed in a tri-fold cardboard sleeve (like the ones made for the Hello Starling and Golden Age Of Radio reissues), with NEW artwork and fresh liner notes by Tom Ricks (Pulitzer Prize winning journalist).

The LP version of The Animal Years includes the bonus CD in a full-color sleeve, inside the LP (same as The Hello Starling re-issue).

The Animal Years (vinyl) is available now at Josh's official site (here) and most indie shops. For the local shop near you, visit www.thinkindie.com.

The Animal Years CD will be available at the indies (www.thinkindie.com), Amazon.com, and Barnes & Noble on February 15.  PRE-ORDER NOW at Barnes & Noble (http://music.barnesandnoble.com/Animal-Years/Josh-Ritter/e/738435010317/?itm=2&USRI=josh+ritter) and at Josh's official site, here.

Josh will also have ALL The Animal Years merchandise available at the shows!

Enjoy....

"How About We"......Win Free Tickets to One of These Shows?

Oh, we are so romantic.

It IS that time of year.  So, to have some more fun with the whole Valentine's Day thing, we’re giving away a package of 2 free tickets and 2 free T-shirts for Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band (with special guest Scott Hutchison from Frightened Rabbit) at the NYC / Boston / DC / LA / San Francisco shows, courtesy of the dating site HowAboutWe.com

Propose a date with the words “Josh Ritter” in it and we’ll pick our favorite. Here’s an example: “How about we…meet for drinks and see who knows more Josh Ritter lyrics. Person who wins picks the place for dinner.”

(Note: this is NOT a date with Josh. This is a date where something Josh-related – a gig, listening to music in the park, etc – is part of it.)

Have fun with it!

Josh and Band's "eTown" Performance Now Airing and Streaming

This past November, Josh and The Royal City Band were lucky enough to be asked back to eTown, the exciting weekly radio broadcast heard from coast to coast on NPR, public and commercial radio stations.

There, they performed several songs in front of a live audience, along with The Hold Steady.  You can hear the entire episode HERE, including Craig Finn joining Josh and the band for "Roll On" and both bands joining together to cover John Prine's "Angel From Montgomery."

You can also see select video from the episode, HERE.  And listen for it on your favorite NPR or local radio station!
