The 'End of Time'

I was commenting on this video the other day and noticed when I was looking up the end of the mystery of God noted in Revelation 10:7 that verses 5 and 6 read, "And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer". Well, what if the Mayan calendar ends not because the world or human society is expected to come to an end, but because we're about to enter an age in which we are not constrained by the clock?
