Brundage receives first snow of its 50th ski season | Local News | Idaho Statesman
Brundage Mountain reported 1 inch of snow at the base area, 3 inches mid-mountain and possibly up to 4 inches at the summit on Sunday, spokeswoman April Russell said.
“Right now, we have some light rain at the base area, but it looks like more snow and colder temperatures could bring us more snow tonight, tomorrow and early this week,” Russell said.
In recent years, Brundage Mountain has opened only for Saturdays and Sundays as early as the second week in November. The resort plans to open as soon as it has enough snow to properly groom the slopes.
Russell said there is no magic number of inches, as water content of the snow affects how well it packs down. She said it’s unlikely that the resort would open for mid-week operations until after Thanksgiving.
