Idaho Humane Society still needs cat food | Pets | Idaho Statesman
The pet food shelves at the Idaho Humane Society's Pet Food Pantry are completely empty of cat and kitten food and cat litter after a long "kitten season." Over this summer and fall, often called "kitten season" due to the large number of unwanted litters that flood animal shelters, hundreds of litters of kittens were raised by IHS foster families.
A particularly long kitten season this year put a strain on the donated food supplies available for foster families. There are currently 150 cats and kittens in foster care and the shelter desperately needs cat food and litter. The Idaho Humane Society depends on a network of foster homes to care for cats and dogs that require extra attention beyond the walls of the shelter. The shelter provides vet care and pet food for the foster animals in these dedicated foster homes. The shelter needs your help to replenish the Pet Food Pantry so that there will be pet food available for foster homes to continue to care for shelter animals with special needs. Please consider purchasing an extra bag of cat/kitten food or cat litter this week to support IHS foster families.
Donations can be dropped off at the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. Those wishing to make cash donations can donate online at www.idahohumanesociety.org.
