Closed Melting Pot restaurant plans to reopen in Downtown Boise | Entertainment | Idaho Statesman

In a surprising turn of events, Boise fondue restaurant the Melting Pot, which closed Aug. 15, plans to reopen with a new owner.

Former owner Howard Wasserstein opened the restaurant at 200 N. 6th St., in the renovated historic Central Fire Station, in June 2004. He closed in August for financial reasons, he said.

George Chaposky, who owns the Columbus, Ohio, Melting Pot franchise, stepped in and took over the Boise location. Chaposky brings a long history with The Melting Pot, Inc., as a manager and owner. He’s worked at the Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Memphis, Tenn., restaurants.

The Melting Pot will reopen as soon as Nov. 1, according to the company’s website.
