(CNN) -- Death already has a surprisingly vivid presence online. Social media sites are full of improvised memorials and outpourings of grief for loved ones, along with the unintentional mementos the departed leave behind in comments, photo streams and blog posts.

Now technology is changing death again, with tools that let you get in one last goodbye after your demise, or even more extensive communications from beyond the grave.

So, on a sidebar or somewhere on this page there was a link from this story to one about the police using a 'little-known Facebook messaging feature' to notify her of her son's death. That article mentions that there is an 'Other' folder in all our FB 'Messages' areas to which, for instance, messages from people we don't know are shunted without a notification. Having found that, I'll finally get back to you, Ms. Reyes, about the yoga, and, 'Donny Johnson', nice package, thanks for sharin'. Dude says, "Big penis. Does it get in the way a lot?" He's gonna be a little offended if he checks his 'Other' folder and he doesn't have one of these, too. So anyway, if you're curious what 'Other's have sent you over the years that you never knew about 'cause it gets tucked neatly away without ever letting you know it's there, go to your 'Messages', and there's an 'Other' link right there at the left-hand top of the page. (If you've known about it forever, well, I wish I were as observant as you. :D )
