Continued ECPA Efforts

Again, Mr. Slater gets his point across very well, so I'll share his email in it's entirety:

Good news, Peace!

We did it.

More than 107,000 people signed the "We the People" petition, demanding that the stuff we store online get the same legal protection as the stuff we store offline.

By passing the threshold of 100,000 signatures, we have ensured that the White House will have to respond to our concerns.

This is a huge success -- and a great opportunity for us to show the rest of the Internet what we can accomplish when we all work together. Share this graphic on your favorite social networks now:

This petition is a really great start, but the push to reform ECPA isn't done yet. The White House has yet to respond to the petition, and even after that happens we'll need to work together to push reform legislation through Congress.

That's why it's all the more important that we spread the word of our success. We need to inspire the rest of the Internet to join us by showing them what we can do and how much each of our voices matters:

P.S. You may have seen that we're standing with other leading tech companies in a call to reform government surveillance. More to come on that in the new year.
