Boise State housing is full; some students get rooms in a nearby hotel | Boise State University | Idaho Statesman

Boise State University's on-campus housing is full, and about 30 students are living in the Doubletree Club Hotel on ParkCenter Boulevard.

Students at the Doubletree have access to a lounge area, laundry and a bulletin board. Boise State has leased a floor at the hotel that could accommodate up to 58 students, said Frank Zang, university spokesman.

Boise State has put up students in other hotel-type accommodations before. Last year some students resided in the old University Inn, which Boise State owned, at the corner of University Drive and Capitol Boulevard. That building cannot be used now because it is scheduled for demolition to make room for the university's planned new college of business building.

The school's residences have about 2,200 beds. The school is seeking to build 90 townhouses on campus that could be completed by 2012. That would expand students housing by about 360 beds.
