Well, it’s Sunday again, and the most astrologically busy day of this week. Most of the day is not particularly pleasant, with our emotions overheating and the material world rubbing us the wrong way, so when that bit of luck comes along at quarter to 7:00 AM MDT we’ll want to grab it and hang on to the pleasantness of it as a buffer to the challenges to come. It will be followed at twenty after 9:00 by an opportunity to combine our dreams and life philosophies in ways we’d never previously considered. The party’s over by 9:30 and the rest of the day we just have to relax and breathe our ways through. I’m tempted here to say, ‘grit our teeth and muddle through’, since it’s more that kind of day, but relaxing and breathing usually bring about better results in terms of helping us stay calm and peaceful during the rough patches, of which there will be plenty. The full Moon takes place today in Sagittarius at 11:04 AM; see here for more on the energy that brings to the day. Today in particular we need to allow this moment of separation between ourselves and our emotions to be a space in which we find mental tranquility, balance and clarity. (This may take a conscious effort as the energy here will be spirited, but we’ll really need the perspective to help carry us through the rest of the day.) The afternoon and early evening are at best uncomfortable and at worst explosive; keep breathing, because at 7:35 PM the Sag Moon conjuncts Sag’s retrograde Pluto, which could augur a sea change for the positive in our emotional direction, or if we’ve allowed the day’s energies to put us in a foul or even mildly unpleasant mood could create a sort of cesium-in-water situation. After this conjunction the Moon is void of course until she enters Capricorn at 3:19 AM Monday, but there is a bit of a break left to be had tonight around 9:40 PM in which we’ll get a glimpse of new ways to bring our dearest dreams to fortuitous fruition.

Capricorn is the Moon’s opposite sign. While they each carry projecting energies, the Moon’s is intuitive and Cap’s is objective. The Moon concerns herself with our inner life, where Capricorn is all about our actions and effects in the wider world. We’ll do well to use this space to find where each can positively affect the other and to find equilibrium between the two. I’m having to sit back here and take another look at my aspect list, because it seems like it’s been days and days of hairy energy and I’m concerned about perhaps somehow not being objective myself, but no, that’s actually how it’s been, and today, while not quite as tempestuous as some have been recently, continues largely in much the same vein. Fortunately there’s less downright irritation and more development taking place today than other recent days. There’s a fortuitous moment at quarter to 10:00 AM when we find innovative ways to express our dreams, and from twenty after 2:00 PM until 11:35 we feel pretty good unless we’re the sort to be bothered by progressive energy. The last energetic note of the day is somewhat abrasive, but if we go to bed a little early we can let it pass in our dreams.

Tuesday begins well, with Cap’s Moon sextiling Uranus in Pisces at 4:37 AM, bringing electricity and evolution to our family-related dreams. Exactly two hours later Mercury in Cancer opposes the Moon, setting up a disconnect between what we feel and what we say. We can tumble and fall aimlessly through this space, or we can use it as breathing room between our thoughts and feelings, let it lead us naturally to the effects of the lucky trine between the Moon and Taurus’ Venus at 9:51. The earthy energy of this aspect creates a point of irresistible ethereal beauty which calls us to drown in the love of our material world. At 1:05 PM the atmosphere lightens up with a mysterious electrical undercurrent which strengthens and blossoms through the afternoon and evening to culminate with profound positive changes in our philosophical and emotional landscapes that are likely to be of significant benefit in our careers and external lives. As is often the case, however, this growth is taking place under a Moon traveling void of course from that 9:51 AM trine until she enters Aquarius at 6:32 AM Wednesday, so while it ought to be nurtured and encouraged we’ll be doing considerable trimming and (re)shaping before all’s said and done. (Bikini wax for the soul. :->)

Growth continues into the morning, and before the Moon makes her segue there’s a rough patch just after 6:00 AM involving Uranus with whom she was so friendly yesterday morning. This will pass fairly quickly, and our emotions settle and expand into a matter-of-fact zone. Around 7:00 Gem’s Sun has a run-in with Saturn in Leo where the creative things we need to do for our future security disagree with our self-expression. The energy takes an upswing on the way into a quiet morning with nothing more happening astrologically until almost 2:00 PM. The afternoon and evening bring a series of oppositions, all of them involving Aquarius’ Moon - emotion and intuition with regard to our friends and our dreams - and various planets in Leo - pleasurable creativity. Oppositions indicate a separation, which can mean either disconnection or breathing room, depending upon how we use it. The first involves Juno; sanction and reckoning. The second, just over four hours later, Mars; physical activity. Next, at 7:20, is Vesta; family ideals. Last in this series, one minute under seven hours after the first, Saturn; discipline and reward. So we begin by ruthlessly examining and trimming the detritus out of our lives over the course of the afternoon, begin the evening by taking creative action in solidifying the positive bits we’ve kept, continue by incorporating our outer circle (friends) with our inner circle (family), and end this run by accepting the rewards of a job well done. The euphoria (if any) is short-lived, as the rest of the evening consists of irritation and blockage, but if we’ve taken full advantage of the space we were given today it should allow for a stable platform from which to address the coming turbulence.

By ‘coming turbulence’ I mean Thursday’s energy. We begin five minutes into the day with what we love getting in the way of what we want. Six minutes after that what we know is rubbing all up on what we desire, and not in a good way. Let me take a moment to say that while the time an aspect occurs is specific and that’s when it’s energy will peak, aspects will be felt to varying degrees before and after those peak times, depending upon the strength of the aspect, the planets involved, and what else is going on to counteract or complement them. This is why days tend to have sort of an overall energy, overall focus, and then sub-energies and sub-themes running through them. But getting back to Thursday, overall it’s one of those irritating days, but there’s growth involved around 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and if we can focus on that the more exasperating segments ought to be manageable. Communication and evolution in terms of the legacy we’re already on the path to leaving and that which we’d like to leave are key today, and tonight there’s a very subtle shift in our mental flow from inspiration to enterprise.

This shift releases some binders that have been constricting us, because Friday, which comes in with a bit of propitious self-expressive communication with friends, there is massive expansion. The first bit hits at 6:00 AM, while the Moon is in her void of course phase (from 1:24 to 9:05 AM), with a burst of communication connecting family, friends, and reconstituted dreams. Then there’s a minor rough patch around 7:30, followed by the Moon’s entrance into Pisces, where she feels quite at home and a bit more relaxed than usual. From this point on the day takes on a feeling as if we’re a bottle of pop with a balloon over the top. We get that first little release of carbonation, then a breathless pause of anticipation, then someone shakes the bottle, and from there through the late afternoon and evening the balloon swells and swells with freed air and spilled soda. Obviously there’s a great deal of mysticism in today’s energy, but it’s offset by tangible, heated activity and some very good solid communication. The evening ends with our balloon full to bursting, so except for the most development-averse among us the day is a good one overall.

And Saturday, ah Saturday. Coming in and going out it’s blessed. There’s a period of intensity from late morning through early afternoon, coming in on a wave of changing emotions, then going up in flames as we buckle down to finding creative ways to get work done around the house (or don’t, in which case this will be a rather unpleasant afternoon, one of those days when we feel like we ought to be doing something but aren’t). Whether we do it or not, there’s a funny little growth spurt around twenty after 6:00 PM, followed about two hours later by an undercurrent of unrest, but the night passes through another fortuitous moment with regard to communicating our dreams to our families and ends with a nice warm bit of active self-determination to take us into next week. It’s worth enjoying that last hour of the day. We deserve the indulgence (and if we don’t, who’s gonna tell on us :-D).

As always, take good care folks.

Love,
Peace
